✅Tips(Please check it.) 

Format
  • The information filled in the thesis/dissertation cover(including title of the thesis/dissertation, graduate date, etc.) is correct. (example)
  • The abstracts in the thesis/dissertation should use the prescribed form.(Chinese abstracts-A12 ; English abstracts-A13), and must include outer frame, personal information declaration and form number.
  • The information filled in the Chinese and English abstracts (including Total pages, Graduate date, Degree conferred,etc.) is correct. (example 1example 2)
  • The page numbers in the table of contents should match the actual page numbers in the thesis/dissertation. (example)
Electronic Documents

Step1  Log in to ' Electronic Theses & Dissertations Service ' (ETDS)

  • Click on 'Submission', and enter yourSingle Sign-On (SSO)account and password.
  • If you are a graduating student this semester but experiencing login issues,please send an email to the Digital Information Section (dss@mail.tku.edu.tw), providing your name and student ID for permission update.

Step2  Fill in the information column by column

  • Basic metadata of Thesis/Dissertation
    • Please pay attention to the field text instructions.(「*」 Required field. ) Please ensure to fill in with accurate and truthful information.學位論文 關鍵字
    • "Table of Content (with list of Figures and Page Number) " field should include the list of figures/tables(if included).
    • "Language" field:If your thesis/dissertation is not written in Chinese or English, please select "Else" and select the language of your thesis/dissertation in the o "Other Language" field.
  • Set up committee members
    • The number of committee members is three by default. If there are more than three committee members, click Add Committee Members to add more fields.
    • If there is a co-advisor, please be sure to include their name on the thesis cover page, abstract page, and in the system.

Step3 Upload file

  • Please convert the entire thesis/dissertation to one single PDF file, and make sure the file contains all the content of your thesis/dissertation.
  • PDF file should include the watermark and be set with security settings.( How to do document, or you can use the "Security & watermark tool")
  • PDF file does not need a file name to be set. After uploading, the system will automatically change the file name.
  • Click "Browse" to select the file, and then click "Upload" to complete the upload of the thesis/dissertation document.
  • After uploading, please double-check to ensure that the file can be opened successfully and that the content is accurate.

Step4 Authorization

Step5 Recheck before submitting

  • Before submission, please review the information again to ensure accuracy and consistency with the electronic document of your thesis/dissertation.

Step6 Submit for review

  • After all the above-mentioned processes are completed, please select Submit.
  • If you need more time to examine your thesis/dissertation, click Save, and the system will save the information you have entered. Please remember to continue your submission within 30 days. Otherwise, the information you have entered will be deleted.

“Electronic Theses & Dissertations Service” Field Writing Guidelines
  • "Title (in Chinese) ", "Title (in English) " fields must correspond to the cover.
  • "Keywords (in Chinese) " field should match the keywords on the Chinese abstract page.
  • "Keywords (in English)" field should match the keywords on the English abstract page.
  • "Table of Content (with list of Figures and Page Number) " field should include the list of figures/tables(if included).
  • "Table of Content (with list of Figures and Page Number) "field should correspond to the table of contents page of the thesis/dissertatio.
  • "References"field should correspond to the references page of the thesis/dissertation.

Submission

Step1  Upload

Step2  Review by department assistant

  • Review Criteria: Verify the electronic thesis/dissertation file, including the following items: cover page information, title page, table of contents (with page numbers), Chinese abstract (form number), English abstract (form number), main body, references, watermark, file security encryption, etc., to ensure compliance with the regulations.
    • Not Approved: You will receive an email notification. Follow the instructions provided for revisions and resubmit for review by the department assistant once completed. If you have any questions during this period, please contact the department assistant for clarification.
    • Approved: You will receive an email notification, but you may not print the hard copy of the thesis or authorization form yet. You must wait for review by the librarian.

Step3  Review by Librarian

  • The review by the librarian is expected to take 1 to 3 working days.
    • Not Approved: You will receive an email notification. Follow the instructions provided to make revisions, and send the revised electronic thesis file in reply to that email.
    • Approved: You will receive an email notification. Print the hard copy of the thesis and authorization form based on the approved electronic thesis file.

Step4 Print the hard copy thesis/dissertation

1. Use the electronic file approved by the librarian to print your thesis/dissertation. (It should be as same as the reviewed electronic file).

  • Please refer to the binding order.
  • You need to bring 3 paper theses/dissertations to the library.
    • 1 original copy (The oral examination committee signature sheet must have the committee members' handwritten signatures.) will be returned to the student after verification, to be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs.
    • 2 photocopies will be submitted to the library.

2. Print one copy of each of the three authorization letters (for the National Central Library, Tamkang University, and the database) by logging into Electronic Theses & Dissertations Service ' (ETDS)

3. Appointment for submission of thesis/dissertation

Step5 Submit hard copy theses/dissertations

  • Please go to the library on time according to the appointment date. If there is no emergency, please do not change the date / time at will.

    • The documents submitted include:

      • 3 paper theses/dissertations (1 original [The oral examination committee signature sheet must have the committee members' handwritten signatures.] and 2 photocopies)

      • 1 copy for each of the 3 types of authorization (National Central Library, Tamkang University and Database) form (with handwritten signature)

    • If you need to postpone the publication of your thesis/dissertation, please submit the application of postponement of publication and supporting documents.

Step6 Graduation Procedures

  • If you need to complete the graduation procedures on the same day as submitting your hard copy theses/dissertations, please first print the graduation procedure form. After submitting the thesis, take the original hard copy, stamped by the library, to the circulation desk on the 2nd floor of the library to complete the process.

  • If you are unable to personally complete the graduation procedures, you must first upload the electronic thesis. After it has been reviewed and approved, you will need to fill out the Letter of Authorization, authorizing someone else to submit your hard copy theses/dissertations and authorization forms on your behalf.
